Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Through the story of a little boy named Felix, this charming book explains to children how being kind not only helps others, it helps them, too. As he goes about his day, Felix interacts with different people -- his sister Anna, his grandfather, other family and friends. Some people are happy, but others are grumpy or sad. Using the metaphor of a bucket and dipper, Felix' grandfather explains why the happy people make Felix feel good, while the others leave him feeling bad -- and how Felix himself is affecting others, whether he means to or not. This beautifully illustrated adaptation takes the original book's powerful message -- that the way we relate to others has a profound effect on every aspect of our lives -- and tailors it to a child's unique needs and level of understanding.

Sharon
This story does a good job of explaining the bucket theory in a kid friendly way and using concepts children can relate to.

this is a very thought provoking book, for both children, youth and adults. i think it is a must have for churches, schools and others who work with children, and relationships.

5 out of 5 stars I'm 35urs old & this has changed my life!!!   December 15, 2009
Bonnie L. Montz (Glen Dale, WV USA)
I'm a 35yr old Nursing student who read this book while doing a presentation on hand washing to 18 4yr olds. It really changed the way I talk & act every day...I wanna make sure to be a bucket filler!!! So I knew I had to get a copy for my kids. I also got the daily workbook that goes along with it.

5 out of 5 stars positive message for kids   December 7, 2009
yayalaine (Mississippi)
I ordered this book & hoped to use it in a guidance lesson for elementary students, but it does not work well as a "read aloud" book for large group use. However, it is very effective with individual students or a very small group. The students I've used it with really enjoyed the pictures and most importantly, they understood the message it was meant to convey. :)

4 out of 5 stars How Full is Your Bucket?   November 16, 2009
Elementary (CO, USA)
Provides a good example of how you have the control to fill & take away from the buckets of those around you. I use this to support the stories by Carol McCloud.
