I received "Curse of the Bone Pirates" yesterday in the mail as a gift for me and my son. As I was off work today I decided to take a sneak peek and found I couldn't put the book down! I'm a 43 year old swim mom who found this young reader book to be especially fun, exciting, educational and simply wonderful from start to finish. The book is simple enough for the younger reader to enjoy and understand, yet filled with such thrilling adventure, great story telling and a fun sense of humor that even parents will be delighted to read this with (or without!) children.

Big kudos to B.T. Hope for getting important ecological messages out to young readers. "Curse of the Bone Pirates" is destined to awaken the senses in children to learn more and do more in big, important and abundant ways.

Ho'omaika'i 'Ana!

I sent this book to my friend Jen who owns Literacy Lift in Miami. She has been looking for reading material to edcuate her students about ecology/ the environment. Jen wrote a glowing note back to me about how very much her students loved Curse of the Bone Pirates!

I have a 12 year old boy who mostly reads graphic novels. He couldn't and wouldn't put this book down until he finished it much to our surprise and delight. He said that the plot was great and the characters where even better. We loved that he was engaged in reading something that also has an environmental message. Our 10 year son, who is an avid reader, liked the booked as well. Both boys said they will recommend it to their friends so it definitely made an impression on them.

We have four grandchildren and this is the perfect kind of book to give them. We can read it together and/or use it as a springboard for discussions about environmental issues. It is fun and engaging as well as full of important information for their generation. I found it appropriate for the 6 year old but still interesting to the 6th grader. I'm recommending it to our friends as a holiday gift for their grandchildren.

I am an avid mystery book lover, and must say I throughly enjoyed this book. It was entertaining, scary, funny, and full of information regarding the environment. I liked the characters, the beautiful descriptions of the island, and the magic! Wouldn't we all want to find ourselves searching for ancient pirate bones and secret treasure? This book lets our imagination soar and enables us to lose ourselves in an exciting adventure. I can't wait to see what happens to Big B and Sam!
