What are we allowing our daughters to become? Tween-esteem defined... September 11, 2008 R. Sullivan (Centennial, CO USA) As a father of a nine year old girl, I am indeed touched that Debra has the courage to take on the "role models" that our society has somehow come to embrace, admire and even worse, accept. She has replacing these tenets with a message that should truly be the guiding force of our daughters' lives. How we have gotten to this level of sociological complacency and distorted values bewilders me, but Debra's book (more to come, I'm sure!) is invaluable in putting things back in perspective in a way that our girls can truly comprehend and appreciate. My daughter cannot wait for the next installment! I applaud her vision! Bravo Debra! Encore!"
Heartlight July 1, 2008 Robert J. Harper I am a life coach for young women and men, and I am daily faced with the issue of self worth and self esteem. My experience has taught me that they are the foundation for living a happy and fulfilled life. Debra's book is remarkable for its simplicity and beauty. It provides a clear understanding of what is truly meaningful in life, and how young people can lose sight of what is important. While I was reading it in the buyer's lounge of INAT's West Trade show, tears came to my eyes. I highly recommend this book to every parent, child, and life coach.

beauty's secret [heartlight girls] May 22, 2008 J. Bowles (denver, colorado) you can't imagine the sheer joy and inspiration you have brought to our seven year old daughter with your new book, beauty's secret...from the moment she heard about the book, she couldn't stop talking about it til we purchased it...since then, she has not put it down, taking it everywhere she goes, including to school and to bed...every girl in her classroom now wants one...her best friends lobby to be with her, so they can read it together...she reads it whenever we drive in the car...on longer drives, she reads it out loud to us...you have truly moved, touched and stirred our daughter's heart, soul and spirit...
the greatest gift we can impart to our children is the gift of recognizing, accepting, being grateful for and the living of our true worth [self-worth]...to do so is difficult, without lecturing or preaching, especially because of all of the outside influences that try to label us as being something less than we truly are...the greatest wayshowers did so with amazing grace, usually through a parable or story...you have become one of them...through your gentle, elevating, enhancing, enriching and embracing story, you have done so with the utmost grace...
thank you for your wonderful gift to our daughter
Great book February 29, 2008 Kathy A. Loidolt (Colorado) My girls enjoyed this book and read it in the car often. It is so important to teach our girls that their real beauty comes from who they are, not what they wear!
I liked this book November 28, 2007 Rhonda (USA) Our society needs as many books about inner beauty as we can get our hands on and Debra Gano's contribution is no exception. The computer illustrations are impressive and match the message perfectly.
