As a father of a nine year old girl, I am indeed touched that Debra has the courage to take on the "role models" that our society has somehow come to embrace, admire and even worse, accept. She has replacing these tenets with a message that should truly be the guiding force of our daughters' lives. How we have gotten to this level of sociological complacency and distorted values bewilders me, but Debra's book (more to come, I'm sure!) is invaluable in putting things back in perspective in a way that our girls can truly comprehend and appreciate. you can't imagine the sheer joy and inspiration you have brought to our seven year old daughter with your new book, beauty's secret...from the moment she heard about the book, she couldn't stop talking about it til we purchased it...since then, she has not put it down, taking it everywhere she goes, including to school and to bed...every girl in her classroom now wants one...her best friends lobby to be with her, so they can read it together...she reads it whenever we drive in the car...on longer drives, she reads it out loud to us...you have truly moved, touched and stirred our daughter's heart, soul and spirit...
