Pretty good May 17, 2008 Nicole H. Markelz 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We really liked Animal Boogie, so we decided to try this one. It's another good musical book, but with a little more ominous sounding song. Not as upbeat as we would have liked.
Another great one from Barefoot Books! February 27, 2008 M. Lincoln 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this book to use in speech-language therapy for special needs children. I agree with another person who wrote that she first put it in and thought it might be boring. I too had that same thought. Give this a chance! It does speed up and the kids really like it. You can use it for teaching so many different aspects of language. Barefoot Books really has some great things to offer and this is one of them!
Addicting! August 26, 2007 Dolce (Long Island, NY) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this book for my students who happen to have autism. They LOVE it and request it all the time. The first time I heard it I thought "Oh no, this is boring" BUT it really speeds up and has a nice melody. You will find yourself singing this in your sleep. My 20 month old daughter loves it as well. I think any young child will enjoy the melody, the pictures and the rhythm of this story.
An excellent book/CD, highly recommended ! May 11, 2007 Mrs. Esther J. Smith (Queensland, Australia) I first saw this book in the local library, borrowed it and was so impressed with it that I immediately ordered a copy from Amazon.com. I have almost used it to death since at school. The children love the catchy folk tune and it has room for so many applications as it goes through family relationships as well as being an excellent counting book. The illustrations are top notch and the singing on the CD clear and easy to follow. As a bonus, a child could follow the story on the CD as a ding tone indicates when to turn the page. I have used it with special needs kids with great success and it would go down just as beautifully in a mainstream classroom. Highly recommended.
