 Great program for early readers November 12, 2008

I started this kit with my daughter when she was about 3 1/2 yrs old. We started off slow and took our time to make reading fun. We also used the BOB book system and some scholastic readers. She is 4 1/2 now and we are going to purchase the next set in this series. She has learned so much. The approach is very simple and enjoyable for kids. The books are simple and make the child feel accomplished and not frustrated like some of the other level 1 readers we have tried. It is more of an OLD-SCHOOL approach but is very effective. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to get their child started on reading early and even to those who need some remediation. It works. My daughter was just evaluated by a reading teacher and is reading at a beginning first grade level. She isn't even in kindergarten yet. So it really does work. You just may want to add some other options to your program to make it more diverse. Good luck!

This is a great program. My five year old son loves reading with me. He's my 3rd child, so I haven't done all the things to prepare him for reading that I did with my first two. This program helps me spend quality time with him, and helps him feel like he's doing something really important. This was a great choice for my 4 year old daughter. The program starts off kind of slow, but the posters and stickers keep my daughter encouraged. Now, she enjoys our evening "letter game" and even asks to read her books. I'm thrilled!

I purchased this for my 4 years old son, who is showing some interest in reading (due to watching Word World on TV). I am truly amused by the CD and workbook! In 4 days, he remembers all the phonics and start reading those very simple stories in the workbook. He is so proud of himself that he can read now. It's a very nicely and organized system. I sit with him all the time and guide him through all the exercise. I would recommend this product to all the moms that I know now!
