Product Description
This classic and much-beloved tale by renowned story teller Mabel Barr has at last been put into print. Squeaky-voiced and precocious Hamster Huey, who lives a life of fun, games and fame, finds a sticky solution to a tricky problem and saves his town from the obnoxious and oppressive Drogs. His surprising syrup and bubble gum solution leaves his townspeople dancing in the streets with joy. Finally in print with beautiful color illustrations by Nick Goettling, Hamster Huey and the Gooey Kablooie describes how the clever, squeaky-voiced Hamster Huey transforms a lifetime of playful imagination into fame and heroism in this ultimate triumph of brains over brawn.

5 out of 5 stars I think it's a fun idea and an enjoyable book!   December 6, 2007

It seems that most of the people who object to this book have never actually *read* it but are just objecting to the title. That's too bad, because the book is really good. It takes about 10-15 minutes to read, which makes it a good length for a bedtime story. The author or publisher never claim that this is truly the story that is mentioned in Calvin and Hobbes. Bill Watterson always said he would leave the real story to the imagination of the reader, and this is probably the result of one C&H fan's imagination. So lighten up, relax, and just enjoy the story for what it is. I've read it to kids in elementary school classrooms and they like it just fine.
