Product Description Dr. Seuss for Military Brats- The Washington Post Helps children cope with anxiety about war and terrorism - Lesley Packer, Phd Academic Journal The very first children's picture books for children of military personnel, Ferguson-Cohen's You're My Hero!TM titles from the Books for BratsTM series were pioneers in the publishing industry. The titles first appeared on shelves in 2001 to help children coping with deployment and have been lauded by the press, educators and children's organizations. Written and illustrated by a military brat whose father was deployed numerous times, the books promote pride in community and connect with her readers, as they are a unique insight into the heart of a military child.

Can't get enough! March 6, 2008 Stacey L. Tucker (Mississippi) My husband has been deployed now for 1 month and I bought this book to read with my 11 month old. Obviously she doesn't understand why her Daddy is gone, but she can't get enough of this book. I have it memorized because she insists on reading several times a day. I guess it is the illustrations or recognizing the words Mommy and Daddy throughout the story. Whatever it is, we have gotten our monies worth!!
LOVE IT!! February 14, 2008 S. Perez I bought this book for my daughter and she loves it! She wants me to read it all the time now that her Daddy is overseas. A great book!
Short and sweet April 11, 2007 Military wife (texas base) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It is a very short book. Being a board book, we expected that. But for the price we paid, we were hoping for a little more inside. Overall, it was average compared to the other military deployment books for kids. I wish they had more that werent so specific on army personnel though.
Good for child June 1, 2005 B. McGarry 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I call this the sad book because it makes me sad to read it while my husband is away. Of course my child seems to pick it ALL the time and I read it because I want him to want to read about Daddy. I have to agree that the rhyming and rhythm of the book are a bit painful but my child doesn't care so it's great for him.
